Any body have experience with a Trijicon RMR on a 556? Will it co- witness, and how did you like it?

I know it is not exactly the same set-up but I have a RM06 on my 553 Commando and in my opinion it works very well on the rifle.

My 553 is the model with the B&T railed upper and the flip up micro rear BUIS that is recessed into the rail. With the RM06 on the std low picatinny rail mount (RM33) I get co-witness in lower portion of the RMR window.

I mounted the RMR on the most forward position on the rail and I find dot acquisition to be very easy and fast and the RMR does not interfere with any of the ways one would work the charging lever (support hand over or under the receiver or with strong hand) .

I had one on my 556 Classic SWAT. The top of the front sight post is in the upper 1/3 of the sight picture. It is not much of a bother when shooting close range but will affect sighting past 50 yards.

To be honest, this is a much better solution.

The stock sights suck...

Not a trij, however it co witnessed perfectly with the factory sights on my 556P.
