I came across a couple of these and was wondering what I should expect.  Accuracy? Quality? Reliablity? I shot one many years ago but I can't remember anything about accruacy or how it performed.  Just handling them they seem well made.

Traditions makes pretty good stuff.

I personally have not shot either of these two firearms.

I am partial to the custom made guns, they are a little bit more expensive but you can get better quality parts such as barrel and locks.  Having said that, I do have a Lyman Great Plains Hunter rifle (Green Mountain Barrel) that shoots way better than I can hold.

These two firearms will do you well if you take care of them properly.

I have used Traditions products a lot and i have come to depend upon them.
No experience with the pistol, but the rifle, if its precussion is actually called the Shenendoah.  I used to have one i used for BP season.  It was accurate and powerful.  That gun liked the .490" RB but it shot a Great Plains, "Buffalo bullet" nearly as good, even with the 1:66 twist. (just in case you want more Oomph)
I don't have it anymore because i have an inline, and sold the Shenendoah.  I keep wondering why.
I do, however, use a Traditions, "Deer Hunter" for PA flintlock season.  It is tough and reliable.  And short enough to be handy in the woods.
I also use Traditions accutriments.

I'm hoping to get out and shoot them this weekend. I've got .490 balls and plenty of caps and am going to pick up some patches and powder one day this week.  I downloaded the manuals from the Traditions site so I should be good to go.

I'm also going take my Ruger Old Army out for the first time.  I'm going to have my first black powder range session.
