Mhmm... letting it really beat me up here but the 16" barrel does enhance kick and sound.

Good eye..yeah its a CDNN exclusive 16" barrel GI, but PTR refers to it as the PTR Classic Wood K

I have she Scout Carine model with the aluminum handguad and tri rail up front and the welded rail on top of the reciever. 16" fluted bull barrel. The shorter the barrel the less the kick by the way. This is preety much a recoil opperated rifle. Delayed blowack roller locked to be specific. It kicks less than my mini 14 in my opinion. Has some muzzle rize to it though. If I load up the ipod in prone I can controllit very well and put 20 rounds in a 12 inch box at 300 yards in as many seconds.

Roller blowbacks are notorious for having more kick than rifles operating differently but firing the full powered cartridge.  Not sure about the shorter barrel rifle kicking less and kind of shocked to hear that your mini-14 kicks harder, is it setup really light?... my mini-30 doesn't kick as hard as my 91.  Longer barrels will allow for higher velocity and inevitably more pressure on the action but, heavier barrels can counter this and make the difference negligible in my experience.  I'm always looking to learn so school me if thats way off.



People have great things to say about this cheek riser from RTG...if I had a scope I'd be all over it but planning to shoot this gun in some modified offhand postion most of the time...if i decide to get a magnifier I may go with the weld.
