I know these really saw little use in the Civil War but everything I've read on them is that they're great shooters.

I was able to handle an older Parker Hale 1858 on Sunday. I had no issue getting a proper sight picture with it.

Guys who have experience with them or the 1853 Enfield how do you like them?

I've got the Parker Hale 2 band and use a Parker Hale minie ball mold for the minies.  It shoots well.

If you didn't know, the 2 band Enfield was reserved for the sharpshooters (actually skirmishers) in both the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia and the Army of Tennessee.
