I have an end closet space like that.  No electricity though.  It's a log room with two entrances, so I could divide it in half to make two separate spaces, and keep some closet space.  All I need to do is replace one wimpy door and conceal the locks,

Going to paint and stuff this summer but it's coming along. GallowTech will go on the cinderblock wall eventually. Not my first post here but some changes were made.

Finally painted the walls. Paint isn't great but it was a utility room so it's what I have to work with. Still very much a work in progress.

I’m designing a vault of sorts, in the new house.

All concrete, 10x20 feet so far.  And that is as far as I got.

I’m thinking more utilitarian, so concrete walls with Gallow Tech directly on the concrete.

I’d like to store some ammo in there as well.  What are y’all using to store ammo?  I don’t want it directly on the floor.  Maybe 20k rounds of mixed stuff.

Speaking of flooring, what are you using.  I’m thinking of some kind of rubberized flooring.  I don’t want tile or hard woods.  Suggestions?

I'd still frame it out so it's easier to run wiring and insulate. I use vinyl planking that looks like wood. I built solid bottom open shelves and my ammo gets stored in ammo cans along my bottom shelf

I think commercial-type carpeting would be really good for this application. It's softish and durable. ESD if you reload in there.

I may reload in there.  I have not gotten into reloading, but definitely on my must do list.  I’ll finally have the space and time to do so.

Wiring is a non issue.   It’s new construction so they’ll pour it out with electric already in the walls and such.   However, I’ll talk with my builder and see what he recommends.  I can easily get them to frame out one wall and have the plugs on that side.

I’m also putting my back up batteries and inverters in there.  So it’s not just a “gun” room.

I do not plan on hanging out in there.

been following this thread for years and finally looks liker we're buying a house with a basement so I'll get the chance to do this!

how hard is it to build out a cinderblock room on an already poured slab basement floor? I'm not looking for indestructible room since the wife works at home and we'll have cameras/alarms/etc. Looking for something that could be a bad weather safe room, too.

Finally got around to building out my room last week. It's coming together nicely.

Some cheap flooring, counter top and cabinets. Boom!  Still need to put in the drop ceiling and finalize electrical. I put a 2x4 up to temp secure a few outlets until I'm settled in.

Before Flooring prep: Guy that lived her use to cure meats and make wine in this room. As who knows what else.

Some left over flooring.... lol

Mounted my wall control panels this week. I need more of the hooks to do it right but so far I’m a fan

While I'm not on the level of some of you, I wanted to add my recent build. I finally assembled my Gallows Technology system and started organizing everything

Super simple to install. The biggest pain in the ass was the studs were 24" so I had to use some wall anchors, but it hasn't ripped out of the wall yet. The system is strong and well built. Now, I need more guns to buy more segments.

@NYresq1 no, it's full of lethal stuff. My wife and kid liked the color and I was tired of having only black guns. May paint it but will definitely replace the front sight.

Looks great.

Don't fall into the expensive trap of the wall control hooks and stuff unless you're after aesthetics.

Peg board j hooks and u hooks do just as good of job IMO, for much less $$. The only downside is you don't quite have as much versatility as the WC stuff.
