Just won a intratec Tec-22 off gunbroker and wanted to know what I got my self into. I know Im going to get alot of sh!t for buying a cheapo lead sprayer but I kind like the idea of being able to use my 10/22 mags and they look pretty sweet with the 50 round drums. So have any of you had a chance to shoot one and how was it. I used to own a interdynamics KG-99 (the original Tec-9) and the thing would jam every 75-100 rounds and dont expect the Tec-22 to be much better. So lets hear your opinion.

I hope you got it CHEAP.  I had a standard black Tec-22 and got it to fire three shots before it fired out of battery.  Cleaned it up, shot 2 or 3 more shots, and the damn thing did it again.

At least I bought it cheap enough that I was able to make eight bucks when I sold it as a parts gun...

If you want a .22lr military-ish looking pistol, buy a Calico.

Got one. It is fun to shoot with 30 round mags and fairly accurate.
It is ammo sensitive. I can not remember which ammo it likes.

I heard from the guy at the local gun shop that calicos arent all that great either but would probably buy one for the hell of it if the prices wernt so damn high. I only paid $115 for it so I think I could probably make a decent profit off the thing if Im not happy with it. I have always liked the little things and figured for the price why not. I will let you know how it works out once I get it.

Tec 22 are fun to shoot. I use remington Golden bullets (high velocity) bulk pack from Walmart and they have worked good for me.

I use 25 rnd Ramline mags as I experienced jams with butler creek mags (both hotlips and steel lips).

This video is of a SEMI-AUTO. Just have a fast trigger finger.

Dude... I so want one now. Well only if I could nab one sub $200. I looked on Gunbroker and GunsAmerica and people want upwards of $300 for a tec-22, and upwards of $500 for a tec-9, wtf.

about the jams: I quote directly from the manual

"NOTICE: Intratec magazines are made to function with Standard, High Velocity, Long Rifle
Catridges. Ammo with truncated heads, those with a sharp angle in the nose, can jam. Examples of truncated ammmo include Remington "New" Thunderbolt, Remington Viper, Yellowjackets and any brand of Hollow Point Winchester. Also, hollow point ammo in general can cause malfunctions."

Two points I want to make
1) I find Winchester  High Velocity Super X works nicely. LOOK at the ammo before you buy to make sure not truncated heads.
2) Yes, they spell ammo with 3 m's in the manual ;)

Heres one on gunbroker going for $115 but still has 7 hours left but could be a chance to get one fairly cheap.
