I finally got around to trying out my M96/38.  Amazing!  I never would have guessed how smooth and accurate they are!  I also took a k98k with me.  The k98k was like a piece of junk compared to the Swede.  It cycled as smooth as a commercial grade rifle, and was consistently hitting right on.  Its also 105 years old!  I didnt shoot at paper, basically coke can sized debris at about 110 yds and I could make them jump almost everytime.  Hardly any recoil also.  Next range report will be one of my Swiss K31s, which I have yet to shoot.  So far, the Swede is the most refined bolt action ever.  Hard to believe its 105 years old, yet smoother than many modern commercial bolt rifles.

I was there with a couple friends, one of which, is a big mauser fan.  He never tried a Swede before this and he also agreed that it was the smoothest bolt action mauser he's ever shot.  I was going to sell it because of the scarcity of surplus ammo, but now I plan to keep it.  The k98k felt like a crude club compared to it.
