Just thought I'd throw that out there if anyone else was thinking this might be a good little set up.
My findings are as follows: The forward part of the scope mount base that would normally rest over the receiver meets barrel portion of the rifle hits the aft end of the Sage upper rail.
Would need to remove over an inch of material to a depth of about 4 mm or so.
Now to decide which end gets the dremel.... Aluminum is softer to work with than steel, but.... do I really want a dicked up Sage upper handguard if I remove the mount?
Hm... decisions.
& Ron, you need to mention this on your website btw.

top cover  part number 90990  standard profile barrel with 1.25 " milled off Smith Enterprise scope mount

Why should they ? It works fine as is. It's "Sage stocks" who needs to mention it on their website.
Just get the correct upper rail and you are gtg.

Why would SAGE mention another manufacturers product adaptability when they want you to buy this.
