There seems to be limited info on this gun. Its a good looking gun but Im skeptical of performance. From what I understand it uses mostly HK parts at least. Im also curious about their SW 5 STD and other semi auto HK94 replicas they have. Thanks in advance

I had an SP-10 for a while.  I sold it to a member here because after I got my SW5 build back from IGF I saw no need to keep them both.. so I kept that one I had more money into.

My SP10 ran perfect.  I fired only about 500 rounds thru it, with a variety of ammo, and it never once had a malfunction.  It was also surprisingly accurate.  Like a 1.5 inch group at 25m.

I was very happy with it.  Had I not gotten my hands on an SW5 receiver, I would hav ejust kept the SP10.

Good news! Thanks alot. Im liking the sounds of it more and more. I hear it has a lifetime warranty from bobcat. Any pics of the SW5? Its the HK94 one right?

Nope, no pics right now.

The SW5 is the HK94 clone.  I just have the basic STD model that I've dressed up a little bit with a fake can and a FBI style lower.

The warranty on an SP10 would be handled by Special Weapons.  I'm not sure if the warranty is only good for the original owner of the rifle or not.

Ah okay. Well how do you like it so far? Hows it shoot?

Ah okay. I heard from someone else that they had a lifetime warrenty through bobcat

Thanks. Have you been able to fire it?

Right now I am trying to decide between a  SW5 Std/SW55 (whats the difference?) and a SP-10. What sounds better to everyone?

I'm not sure what an SW55 is.

I can tell you an SW5 and SP10 are essentially the same gun.  Only real difference being one is stamped sheet metal and the other is some polymer.  The SP10 has a free floating barrel, so it will be a little more accurate.  Get the one that looks cooler to you.

THe other reason I sold my SP10 and kept my SW5 is because I wanted to have an MP5 clone.  I wish I could have kept the SP10 too, but I needed the money to buy another rifle I wanted.

I bought your SP-10,  It shoots great, never farts or hiccups.
I have put 1500rds through it and absolutly love it, i need the folding stock, but I'm to cheap to buy the stock.
I also have a RRA 9mm carbine, but the SP10 shoots rings around it.

BTW..My SP-10 isn't picky on mags, allot of the bobcat guns are.  I have the asian 34rd mags and they work great.

Yeah I recognized your name right away.

I'm glad you're happy with the gun

Ok good info. I like the sound of metal, and .5lbs doesnt make too much a difference to me. I am split right down the middle with looks. I just wish there where more pics of each (hint hint ) I have seen an SP10 at $995 but I doesnt even have a ballpark price for the SW5 (or the mystery SW55. I dont even know the difference between the two)

Expect to spend about $1300+ for an SW5.

Try getting in on this deal: www.hk-54.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=730

Oh wow. So 1300 is a good price?

This used SW45 is only $820

The sp10 is prettyinexpensive in comparison.

$1300 would be a fair price for an SW5.  Mine was a custom build that cost me about $1500 in the end.

That $800 deal is something to jump on.  If I had the spare cash I would buy another one at that price.  You will never seen an HK94 type rifle for that price ever again.

Oh yeah I know what your saying. I dont have it right now sadly. I wish I did. I wonder what it is that makes them so expensive. It must be the mostly HK parks. Would you say special weapons is any better than bobcat, vulcan, or vector?
Link Posted: 2/13/2006 12:04:47 PM EDT

Special Weapons and Bobcat are basically the same thing.  SW manufactures the receivers and parts and sells them to Bobcat, who assembles them into  guns.

Vulcan is crap.  Don't even bother with it.

Vector HK clones in .223 and .308 have good reviews, but the pistol caliber guns seem kinda spotty.

Thats what i thought.

Damn! I wish it werent you know? What specificaly is bad about them? I love this:

Know any other compaies that make the MP5k clone with that folding stock style? Or at least an MP5k with a stock I can replace with the folding skeleton?

The Vulcans don't even work like an HK94.  They don't use any of the same parts either.  It is basically an Uzi that looks like an HK94.

On top of that they probably aren't reliable at all.

Pieces of crap man..heh.

Cripes. Could I attach that same skelelton stock onto something like a bobcat PDW or any other MP5k rifle? Its just that those bobcats are pricey. I guess I could just get a Vector Arms V51 Rifle. I havnt ruled out the Sp-10 but I really want an HK clone.

Yeah, B&T makes a stock just like that for HK94 clones... just slap it on an SW or BW and you're set.

ok thanks again. Too bad sw doesnt have an mp5k pdw clone. BWs is too pricey so I think Id just go with their BW5. Any idea about this SW "The New Multiple Weapon System-15"? Pictured here

if the price was right Id want it big time.

that sucks big time. There is a pretty large market for rifles like that. Me for instance haha. I guess I should email them or something

I just got an email back from SW. They said the price would be just over $500 and production would start over the summer.

Why so few sp-10 rifles made? They seem to be fairly consistent in quality and people like them. I dont get it.

Yep, its that look that led me to keeping my SW5 over my SP10.

The SP10 is a great rifle.  It improves on the HK94.  But alot of people wouldn't even give it a chance because its a Special Weapons product.  Hell, I knew I was taking a gamble with mine during the entire year that I was waiting to take delivery of it.  I was pleasantly surprised with that gun.

If HK made something like the SP10 instead of the UMP, I am sure damn near everyone here would be creaming their pants over it.  But since its a Todd Bailey creation, 85% of the HK crowd won't even consider it.

I look forward to seeing an SP10 in 40cal.. I'd be all over that.

I figured the "unusual" look would push people away. This might do the same thing but according to SW the price will be around $500

I am almost afraid to say any thing positive about SW products because Todd Baily is so hated in the gun community. But I own an sp10, bw89 and have one of the 850.00 sw5fs on order. My sp10 has never hiccupped no mater how hard its been hammered same with the bw89 so based on my experience with those firearms I decided to jump on the opertunity to pick up another mp5 clone for way under a thousand bucks. Now I will say when I was waiting on delivery of the sp10 I got alot of kinda lame excuses why it was taking so long and my gut feeling from experience is that I wont see the sw5fs till may or june. I agree with the earlier poster who said that if hk had made the sp10 it would have been a huge hit.

I hope they do a run in .40cal and hack that flashlight mount off it.  I'd buy one if they did the pricing like last time, first 100 orders or something were only $750.

Yeah! I could do without that flashlight mount. And the .40 would be great.
