Totally my fault - I got sloppy and plugged in a 48v power supply for a big POE network switch into a little Hikvision cam, and it's dead.  I'm sure I know the answer already, but is there any chance it could be repaired, or should I just get another one put on the boat from China?

When I do plug it in to the correct power supply, the green light flickers strangely.  Must be quite fried to even mess up the power supply!

Many thanks, all.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of... the festival of sparks kind of gave it away too!

I suspect that if you can re-capture the magic smoke and quickly get it back in the camera you might be able to save it.

Did the magic smoke get away already or do you have it properly contained?

Yeah, sounds like it's toast to me...
