50 BMG. A lot of people talk about them but few ACTUALLY own them (compared to something like an AR15). Shops are hesitant to stock them because it ties up a lot of $$ that they probably figure they could buy fast turn around / high profit stuff with, so if you do find a shop with a 50BMG or two you are darn lucky. Add in the present "no more 50 BMG scare" as threatened by our chicken-shit politicians (and now law in CA and who knows where else), and that is why the very limited supply of 50BMG rifles is not meeting the demand in most places. I ordered an ALS-50 upper and am in for a "9 to 12 month wait" due to demand. I suspect the lower end of the market is probably the most overshopped right now which is right where you are shopping for a good full rifle and I am shopping for an "upper type" 50BMG.
All I can suggest is look for a used one or put some money down at a dealer and get on the list. If you need to be one of those social deviants that has a 50 BMG I would not wait too long. (don't worry you will be in good company!). |

Well thanks for the advice so far.
I did manage to find an AR50 on gunbroker for 2300, I think I'll go with that one. There's also a dealer down the road that stocks 99a1's for 3200 with all accessories 10x40 scope and 80 rounds or barrett ammo. Unfortunatly, he's going to be sold out for quite a while, still waiting on the guys who have downpayments and no new rifles in sight......sigh |

My brother just traded his Barret in. it at a shop in Indiana. I know it has less the 50 rounds fired and looks like new. Heres thier # if you interested 317-996 4500. Ask for Ricks old Barret. I belive it had a 16x Leupold Mark4 on it.

For those looking for a upper conversion we have UltraMag50's in stock in 18" and 22" barrel lengths. The 29" models will be in stock very soon (just sold the last one in stock).

What model Barrett was it? Did you snag it or did someone beat you to it? I would love to have a Barrett 95 or 82, but that is the champagne and I have the Lite Beer budget. |

I called and it just sold.
figures. I have the money but people either dont take me serious or they say they've got somthing, and then dont want to sell it. This is torture, I might as well by a MAC or something, at least I'll have it before I can find a .50 By the way, whats the skinny with the Styer 50's Seen them going for high3k. Anyone out there shoot one? PS...still looking

In the last few weeks I saw a couple good deals on gunsamerica.com. I saw a used ar50 for 1800 and a barrett m99 for 2675. both sold, but just keep an eye out and you will eventually stumble across one. biggerhammer.net is also an excellent place to look. be persistant and you will find a good deal. when i was looking for my barrett, all of the shop owners gave me a weird look and told me it was a waste of money. goes to show what they know! good luck and have fun once you get it.!

I have a UL50 rifle package for sale, $2,000. This is the UL50 upper (new) mounted on (new) Bushmaster lower. Barrel length is 22". Has Harris bi-pod, sling, Leatherwood Max-Tac 30MM rings, BSA 3X10X42 scope. |

I've finally found it  AR50 with nightforce 5.5x55NXS Totally what I was looking for at an unbelivable price! Now I cant wait to get it here and shoot the motha' Thanks again everyone! Matt |

Wolfpack ,you like the 8x32 NF over the 5.5x25? I know the 5.5x25 has the most moa adj,but wondered if you had both or shot one with 5.5x25 on it and thats why you went the 8.5x32 route.

The Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50 or 5.5-22x56 are both great scopes for a 50BMG, is this the scope you are refering to? I have been looking for a scope to put on an ALS-50 (on order, many more months to wait). I may settle for a Leupold Mark 4 6.5-20x50 with mildotsand the M1 knobs. Since I have lots of time I will keep and eye open for a used Nightforce (or Leupold) at a good price.... If cost were no object, I would get a custom built US Optics. (But hey, who am I trying to kid!). If the rifle is ready and I'm still scraping for funds a Super Sniper 16x at $300 will do the job. Regards, BillSP1 |

Super sniper works pretty good, mine is a little fuzzy at 400 yrds but, I got what I paid for. I wouldn't want to use it for much more distance than that.......

Just bought an M82A1 off Guns America...there's plenty of .50's on that board, look both under the "Barrett" subsection or the "Big 50" guns tab, there's gotta be something there for you.
