I remember a while back a company had USGI M1 15rnders for something like $4.00 each NIW and oil soaked. Another had NIW 7rnd 1911 mags for about the same price.

Any of those still around?

You got my attention!
Carbine magwhore right here

Most NIW go for about 10 bucks at gunshows, slightly more of the net (what with shipping and all)

I'm interested to see what comes up.

That was 15 years ago.

12 mags for $60 bucks is a pretty good deal.

The NIW $4.00 M1 mags were about two or three years ago.

Ammoman was selling them for a while too. Those are QC reject mags... notice that the witness holes are in the wrong place in the pictures. I picked up one at a gunshow, and it drags kinda hard in the magwell on my series '70.

The easiest to find *good* USGI 1911 mags are Checkmates, which can be identified by "MFR. 1M291" on the baseplate, like these. That number will also be on the wrapper on new-in-wrap mags. They're tough to find online anywhere, but they turn up frequently at gunshows in my area for $8 new-in-wrap.

Wow, do you have a source for this? I just bought a pile of .45 mags from Eric..they all seem to fit and function just fine, too.

Yah, the bottom witness hole shows the 6th round and there's no witness hole for the 7th, but other than that (and I didn't even think it was that peculiar...) they seem to run just fine.

Are there other problems with the mags??

I don't want to fault Eric or anyone specifically, as there's lots of people who sell these. A quick google search on "mfr 30745" (the baseplate marking on these mags) turns up plenty of other people with experience, including this on 1911forum.

Oh wow, I didn't think to Google for it...

I don't think it's Eric's fault or anything; I mean, they ARE technically surplus USGI mags

Hmm, I'll check them out side-by-side with some other mags I have from different MFR's...thanks!!!
