Looks like the easiest (and cheapest) way to mount a scope on my Yugo Mauser is with a Long Eye Relief scope mount (B-Square $40+shipping). I have never used a rifle with a mount like this. What are the pros/cons of this set up? Am I limited to fixed power pistol scopes or can I use variables as well? I know some armies used this setup in WWII, how were the results?

Stay away from B-Square anything.
B-Square is the Fiat of mounting products.
Leupold has several extended eye relief (ER)scopes
and mounting hardware options. Leupold ER scopes and mounts are moderatly priced and very good.

There is no such
thing as a good cheap scope or mount.
