I had a 14" long piece of 6"x6". I couldn't find any add screw eyes at Wally so I just used the hooks. I ran each hook only an inch or so off center so it would pivot good. It works good with .223 fmj. I was concerned whether I would get any action out of it but it works great. Now I'm going to go buy an 8' 6x6 and some more plant hangers and make some more and some replacement targets while I'm painting. I wonder how many rounds these will take. I started out with a small swivel at top, but decided best results are just with two seperate cord loops to each hook hung from the stand makes the target return broadside fastest. Using two contrasting colours and shooting at one side or the other is easy to see it swing. I painted it white first left the ends white, then painted each side with fluorescent color paint.

Edit.. L o l tinypic flips my picture any way it wants.

It won't last very long, but still a neat idea if you need something in a pinch for a spur of the moment range session.

You're going to condition yourself to shoot bird feeders.

Years ago when I was in the automotive business, I used to get brake rotors and hang them by wire hanger from tree branches.  They worked great but didn't stand up to 30-06, 7mm etc which would just bore holes completely through them.  Worked just fine with .22 and pistol calibers.

I'd make a reactive target but the way things are these days it would over react.
Really though neat idea..

Nice.  Cheap and effective.

In 15 days I'll have some reactive targets of my own, they're called grouse.
