Is it legal to put a forward grip on this pistol?

Are you talking about a VFG (vertical foregrip)?

If so, a pistol with a VFG is classified as an AOW.  That would entail you getting an approved Form 1 from ATF before you attach the VFG.

simple answer, NO...

now if you form 1 it as an AOW, after you get your stamp then go for it..
