I went to the gunshow today looking for an aimpoint micro dot and I found a Sig micro dot for 225.00.  It retails for 429.00 so I went ahead and picked it up.  I like the site but there is one giant problem.  The sight is so low that the emergency flip up iron sights that came with my 556 won't co-witness and are actually .25" above the top of the reticle.   What the HELL?  How Fing hard is it for Sig to build their sights to co-witness with THEIR red dot?!?

I could understand if the aimpoint didn't co-witness but if Sig new they were developing a red dot scope for this rifle then it would make sense (obviously too much) that their sights co-witness.

The problem is my department requires backup Iron sight that operate without removing the scope.  I have to put the EOTECH back on until MFI comes out with their replacement sights.

Well there's your problem right there...  SIG didn't develop the sight, they went to the Chinese company that was creating fake Aimpoint T-1's for $100 on eBay and contracted with them to throw a SIG Sauer logo on them and jacked up the price exponentially.

Congratulations on your purchase!

Yup, just a clone of an Aimpoint Micro.

Clone or not the Aimpoint Micro dot won't co-witness either.  I ended up buying a YHM 1" long pic rail riser and it should work till MFI comes out with thier sights.

I like the micro a lot better than the EOTECH.
