I lost interest in C&R rifles back then and recently started getting bored with modern stuff so I'm sending in for my license this week.  Ah, the days of $49 Mosins, $79 K31s, $89 M48s, and $179 K98s. Many of the deals are gone but I plan on adding to my collection. Added a Yugo capture K98, an unissued M48A, and a CZ24 this week.

This thread blows with no pictures.

Welcome back to the game though

I wish I had gotten mine much earlier than I did (2010). I know I missed a bunch of bargains.

Mausers are my favorite to find and purchase, but not my favorite to shoot. Where the pics at?

What heppens when you let it expire? Like if you only got it once for what 2 or 4 years and then bought a bunch of guns and let it expire? You just keep the guns and you're done with the ATF?

I'll have to get one of them this week. Hate I don't load up on stuff when it was cheap.

That is correct.

Disposition of your bound book is up to you.

I have been using mine mostly for C&R pistols and revolvers lately, mainly older S&W K frames with some .32 and smaller semi autos.

Did the same in '08 because I was financially not able to utilize it.  Re-applied in December and it took 3 weeks from application in the mail to FFL at my door for my new license.  They ask you to explain why you let your old one lapse and why you want a new one, on a separate page of paper.  No big deal.

Pictures of my first two purchases...  1917 Remington Enfield I re-barrelled yesterday (the original barrel 5-18 dated, is literally a sewer pipe) and a 4.75 mil Smith Corona 03A3 waiting to have a CMP C-stock fitted so I can put her to use in GSM.  I hate beating up a good original S stock if I don't have to.

Lots of folks purposely let it expire and then reapply. This lets you destroy your old bound book and start over clean. 03FFL's don't have to turn in their books like dealers do.

I kept my records book. I'll start using it again.
