Can anybody give me info on a shotgun that was gifted to me?
Eastfield 916-A by Smith & Wesson.
Since it was a gift, you didn't do too bad.
Unfortunately, the S&W Eastfield 916 was a rare disaster for S&W.
The gun was a version of the old Noble design, and was made in Japan by Howa, for S&W.
To make a long sad story short, the design was a disastrous failure, that did damage to S&W's reputation.
The guns were notorious for low quality, poor fit and finish, and had a well-earned reputation for reliability problems.
One brand new, in the box might sell for around $250.00, IF you could find a taker who was unaware of the guns reputation.
