I don't know why people want to use the thieves at UPS and pay a hefty shipping price when its legal to ship Priority mail.
Check out DMM C024

I've bought several pistols from dealers that didn't know this and they dropped the shipping charge to under 10.00 to ship instead of 20 to 30 bucks.

Keeping my eyes open.

The Postal Service can be used to ship handguns, but only from dealer to dealer (or manufacturer).

I know...When I buy something off the net it has to come to my FFL buddie...so I tell the FFL seller to send thru USPS instead of trying to charge me 25.00 to ship. They say they can't...but after I explain that you can, I save 10 to 20.00 bucks.

Buy more ammo.

UPS provides $100 worth of insurance as part of the shipping fee. Not much consolation if you just shipped a $1200 pre-ban, so you have to purchase UPS's insurance. You can also insure items sent through the USPS, which generally runs a buck, plus a buck per $100 value of the item on priority mail.

Just ship smart, and everything will be fine.

I've had much better luck with USPS than with UPS. And it's cheaper.

In one week I paid $10.00 shipping to get a rifle sent to me USPS insured and $35 to get a pistol shipped to me UPS because the company said they weren't set up to ship USPS. A month earlier I spent $10.00 to ship another pistol USPS insured. I'll use USPS whenever possible.

If it is shipped Priority.

I was referring to United Parcel Service (aka UPS,) not the United States Postal Service (aka USPS.) UPS Ground comes with $100 of insurance built into the shipping fee. The insurance rates I quoted were for USPS priority mail.
