Greetings,

(I posted this in another forum and no one is chiming in, so I though I would see what you guys had to say here.  Need to buy a scope fast!)

I just purchased a Rick Kuehl 22lr upper for my M16. It is setup as a 10.5" A3 upper. I am going to remove the front sight post and want to have the option to shoot with a scope.

Obviously witha 10.5" barrel, precision distance shooting is not going to be the name of the game. But I would like to have a scope to put on the upper for some fun at the range (there is only so much full-auto you can shoot ).

I would like to aquire a somewhat simple scope (I do not need a $600 dual, over-head cam shaft overkill scope for this project), with a throw-lever mount to the A3 upper. I am not much of a scope guru, so please make some recommendations and dispell some of your wisdom.

Thanks,

TS

Here is my Keuhl M16.  The Eotech has a small dot and is quite precise out past 50yds.

I have an Aimpoint on there right now.  That is great for auto, but I wanted the option of a real scope.

Eotech is better than Aimpoint for distance shooting, smaller dot.

A couple of scope options, both high enough for cheek weld:

Expensive heavy Armalite base with Burris 3-9x40 FF2 Illuminated ballistiplex.

Cheap Leapers 3-9x40 compact on cheap muzzleloader see-through bases from Bass Pro.

From (bad) memory the Armalite steel base cost about $180.  It is indestructible but heavy.  The Burris Fullfield 2 Ballistiplex scopes have range graduations out to 500yds for .223 and cost about $200, you could get a 2-7 which would be smaller.  The Illuminated reticle version cost about $300.

This is the same gun with no suppressor and backup sights.  CMMG sells the flat rear sight that will fit under the scope.  The base will return to zero, it is quite easy to remove the scope for close-range plinking and put it back on zeroed.

VUT

 That probably affects his costs.
Love those guns, Monkey-Man.
