As it states, I bought a mosin nagant and some 84 headstamp corrsive ammo from AIM. Im going shooting this weekend and wont be able to touch the rifle to clean it for 48 hours. Is it ok to wait to clean it when i return, or should i drag the entire cleaning box with me while ill be out of town? I wasnt sure id there was a " IT MUST BE DONE RIGHT AFTER SHOOTING!" issue or not.

Thanks!

Clean it right away. The salts will cause corrosion after a just hours unless you live in the Mojave Desert with 10% humidity.

Soapy hot water is best to get rid of the salts, then clean and oil the usual way. If all you have is a water hose and bucket and dishsoap, you can still do it, just separate from the stock first. Then clean, dry, oil and you will be good.

You should be fine.  The corrosive stuff just leaves salts in the residue.  Hell, you can use soap and water, no need for the entire cleaning box for that short of a wait.

A little oiling after soap/water is dried will prevent flash rust. but yeah that will work.

An expedient method to "hold" the rifle until you can give it a totally cleaning is to take a bottle of any spray cleaner like 409 or Windex to the range.
These will remove the corrosive salts.  Truth is, you can do the same with a bottle of water, but the soap cleaner will "wet" the surfaces better.

After shooting, remove the bolt and spray a GOOD slug of the liquid down the bore and chamber, and the bolt head.
After that, give the bore and bolt head a good shot of the hated WD-40.
The cleaner (or water) will dissolve and flush out the corrosive salts, the WD-40 will drive out the cleaner and leave enough of a protective coating to prevent rust until you can do the job right.

so after shooting can i run some dish soap and water hose down the barrel, push some CLP on a jig down the barrel and just do a whte glove cleaning when i get home?

Pretty much.  As others stated, if you dissolve the majority of the corrosive salts, a light coat of oil will suffice.

shawn, is that you?  Two days? You'll be fine.  If nothing else just spray the bore with windex and you'll be fine. No need to clean if you don't have time.

CLEAN IT VERY WELL! Do not forget the bolt face, flash hider and gas tube...anything that contacts the gas. Do not go to your safe like i did 2 weeks later and find the inside of the muzzle brake caked with rust!

In before the Windex retards.

Hot water is all you need. Soap, Eindex, etc... won't aid in dissolving the salt, so why bother? Clean as normal after the water, give it a good oiling, and check it a few days later just to be sure there's no rust.

Because it's easier than dumping simmering hot water from a pot down the bore and it evaporates itself at room temp...What's so hard to understand about that?

I have went 6 days without cleaning my ak74 before and never once did I see a spec of corrosion. My house doesn't have much humidity, but seriously 2 days will be fine.

Pee down the barrel. That is what the original owners did.
