I changed out the compensator on my 500 to the non ported, to be used with lead cast bullets.

My question is can I still fire jacketed or semi-jacketed out of the same compensator without ill effects? It dosent seem to cover this in the manual.

Thanks for any info or any personal experience issues -MATT

I wouldn't. I have never switched them, I just shoot jacketed ammo. I would not chance it, takes a minute to change them, right

Why not shoot lead with the factory comp?

It isn't as if the holes for the comp are drilled directly into the rifled barrel.

I have the 4'' model, so yeah they are in the bbl.

Factory comp and lead is a nono.....was just wandering if it would hurt to run jacketed through the comp used for lead.
