I took my K31 out to the range for the first time yesterday, and I found the sling to be more of a hindrance than a help. Also, the stitching at the front is getting loose.

I took the sling off the rifle when I cleaned it, and I'm wondering about storage.

What's the best way to preserve old leather milsurp slings?

I use Obenof's heavy duty LP on all the leather goods I have, it's made with bee's wax and some other products that don't smell bad and soak into the leather quickly.

I store my slings and leather holsters down in my basement, if I don't treat them they quickly get moldy stiffen up and dry out.
