A refresher for those unfamiliar with the SST-870:

Features:

1) Allows the shooter to have proper cheek weld when using optics on the shotgun, the adapter was designed specifically with this purpose in mind. Optics can be mounted via the picatinny rail, which mirrors the dimensions of a flat top AR15 upper receiver identically.  The rail being the same height insures a sight picture like that of an optic mounted on an AR15 rifle.  

2) Uses any AR15 style stock. The multitude of AR15 style stocks on the market will allow users to fit the shotgun to themselves and to their intended use for the shotgun.

3) Uses any AR15 style pistol grip. The user can switch grips as necessary to meet their personal preference.

4) Attachment point on left and right hand side of the SST-870 for Uncle Mike’s QD sling swivels.

5) Easier cross training for law enforcement and military personnel issued AR15s/M16 rifles, as well as competition shooters who use AR15 style rifles

6) Stock inline with the bore reduces felt recoil

Construction:
1) SST-870 adapter piece is machined from T6 aluminum and mil-spec type III hard coat anodized for wear resistance and long service life
2) Optics mounting rail is machined to M1913 picatinny spec from T6 aluminum for mounting of red dot optics such as the OKO pictured or other sights. The rail is also mil-spec type III hard coat anodized.

Q:  Does using the SST-870 on my shotgun place me in violation of the ’94 Assault Weapons Ban?

A: No it does not, the Assault Weapons Ban applies only to semi-automatic rifles, shotguns, and pistols.  Mechanically operated weapons like pump shotguns are unaffected by the Assault Weapons Ban, and can have pistol grips, folding/telescoping stocks, and full capacity magazines.

Q: Will the SST-870 work on any other firearms such as the Remington 1100 and 1187?

A: No it will not.  The 1100 and 1187 have recoil springs that go down into the stock, the SST-870 is not designed to accommodate them.  Putting an SST-870 on a semi-automatic shotgun may put you in violation of the ’94 Assault Weapons ban.

Q: Will you be making AR15 style buttstock adapters for any other shotguns?

A: Yes, we plan on doing a model for the Mossberg 500/590.  Designs are not planned for any other models at this time.  If you are a dealer/distributor and would like a design for a particular model of shotgun, with a minimum order of 50 pieces, contact us for a price quote.

Q: Will my ghost ring sights from Scattergun Technologies (or other similar sights) work with the SST-870.

A: No they will not.  Some existing ghost ring sights will interfere with the mounting of the SST-870 itself, and all of them will interfere with the mounting of the optics rail.

Q: Will you be making iron sights to work with the SST-870?

A: Yes, we are in the design phase currently exploring different options.

LOP is the same with the C1 stock as it is with the Remington factory stock...using a telestock will allow the shooter to choose the LOP that best suits them.

This product is not for everyone.  As I have stated before, some people will buy it because they will honestly benefit from having it on their gun.  Others will buy it simply because it looks cool.  And many would be happier spending their money on range time and ammo.

Just as not everyone needs a Quad Rail System, like a SIR or RAS, on their rifle, not everyone needs an SST-870...I'm never going to tell someone that their shotgun isn't any good if they don't have one of these.  I do believe it can increase the performance of many shooters and offers benefits to particular kinds of shooting where optics are beneficial.

This is a machined part.  The adapter itself has 7 set ups in the CNC, the rail 4 set ups.  And there are engineering costs as well.  All the parts are hardcoat mil-spec anodized as well.  That price also includes an ergo grip that normally retails at $30.00 by itself.  So I think the price is quite reasonable, especially considering the advantages in modularity against competing products.

We don't do retail sales, so MSRP is just that suggested retail price...what our dealers decide to sell them for is up to them.

I will be offering a longer rail eventually (probabably have them made with the second batch of adapters).  The rail on the SST-870 is detachable, if someone wanted to they could order picatinny stock from a company like brownells, and have their local gunsmith or machinist machine the docking area on it to fit onto the adapter.

If you are concerned with very long term reliability, I would stick with the fixxed buttstock.  It is also more comfortable to shoot.

I've shot several hundred rounds with the telestock in place and haven't noticed any ill effects yet.  The recoil is less because it is going straight back, and some of the energy is being transferred into the pistol grip as well...the telestock is not taking as much abuse as you would think.

The telestock is a compromise for shooters that wear body armor and need a shorter length of pull, or for smaller statured shooters.  I do admit it does look cooler.

Personally I prefer the C1 stock on the SST-870...but it is designed to accept any AR15 buttstock so the end user can customize it to suit their needs.

I'll be having longer rails made when I do the 2nd production run...which is as soon as 85% of the first run sells.  50% of the first run has sold already...
