Has anyone ever seen a solid steel 4140 billet milled into an ar15 lower, and does anyone have an interest in a project like this?

Why would anyone want to make an ar15 reciever from ordinance 4140 steel?  The aluminum ones would last a life time already.

Some people are using the steel lower for .50BMG uppers. Whether or not it's necessary... Who knows.

It would definitely add weight to a match rifle.
