I use a blackhawk omega elite cross draw vest but was considering getting the strike vest and adding the serpa on the strike platform.  It would be my first serpa holster.  It looks like a good way to set up the vest the way I want it.  I've already read about debris possibly getting into the locking mechanism.  Any experience or reccomendations on these?

I recieved a Serpa CQC as part of a trade.  Prior to this, I wasn't a huge fan of the Serpa, specifically due to the reported issue of debris clogging the release mechanism.

From a retention standpoint, I'm still not a fan, as I have seen too many students lose their weapons during retention drills.  The locking button is easily depressed by an assailant.

In regards to debris, I'll say that I have run the Serpa in a dozen or so rifle and pistol courses since I've had it.  Holster has worked well, no fouling issues what so ever.
