Hi guys,

What's the best way of going about this?  I notice a lot of you guys aren't using vortexes on your SBRs, so there must be something better.

And no, I'm not looking for answers like "get a can."  I've already got Form 4s at the CLEO for several cans.  I'm looking for something meant only to hide flash.

Thanks in advance.

I'm using a regular A2 flash suppressor, but I'm a low-speed, high-drag kind of guy.

Wowsa.  That sucker is big!  Maybe I should just put a dedicated suppressor on this thing, or stick with the vortex.  I'll have to try it at night and see if the flash is as bad as everybody says it is.

Unless your going to suppress your SBR, the KX3 is the best muzzle attatchment you can have on it.

what about the new CMMG krink with carbide glass breakers??

The only reason I use the A2 is that it's required for my Gemtech Halos

agree, the KX3 rocks. It seems to push the report away from the shooter. An A2 on a 10.3" barrel looks like a little flame thrower haha

Anybody got photos of different muzzle devices at night on an SBR, ala silencertests.com?

I'd like to see how this KX3 compares to a Vortex.  I'm sure it's better, but I'd like to know how much before I hang 3" and 1/2 pound of steel off of my muzzle.  At 3" and that weight I seriously might just get a dedicated thread mount suppressor.

Sorry, I dont have any photos.

But on a side note.

One of the things that is on my wish list, is too have a quick attachment system for the KX3 and a supressor that utilizies the same type of attachment system.

I can dream cant I.

I have no experience with the CMMG Krink, but I am sure that it would work just as well as the KX3.

Yeah, that's the type of thing I'm looking for, only on a 10.5 or 11.5 barrel, and preferrably including the KX3.  I'm sure it doesn't exist, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

Basically, I want to be convinced that the KX3 is any better than a Vortex, which I already have several of.  Before I shell out $125 for the KX3 and add all that weight and length to my muzzle, I want to know it's worth it.

I'm going to go shoot it at night with the Vortex and see how it does.  I've seen them shot with an A2 before, so I know how horribly blinding that is.

The pictures were done with an 11.5" barrel, but no KX3.

Oh, really?  I thought they were done on a 14.5 or 16" barrel.  Well, I guess most of the information I desire has been there all along!

Thanks.

I would wish for a KX3 that would work on my SBR .45 upper but it seems there isn't a version for .45.  Someone here put me onto CCF which does make a Vortex type FH for .45 cal.  Still, the KX3 would be great.

I use a Phantom, it looks cool.  An A-1 probably works as good. Joe

Not according to the photographic evidence.

I use a Phantom on my 11.5" SBR and it works great for me. Hardly any noticeable flash at night time, just an occasional 'spark' or two at most

Hey, I'd like to see that.  I picked up the Phantom for my SBR but have only shot during the day.  One slotted flash suppressor may be better than the next I guess.  Joe

Check the silencertests link earlier in this thread.  For some reason I thought all those tests were with a 14.5 or 16" barrel.  I didn't realize that most of them are an 11.5.
