You are correct.  Assault cannon= Barrett M82A1 with a movie prop type scope...

They've been around longer than '87. The first time I saw one was in a shotgun news ad around '84 or '85. I think the price tag back then was something like $3000.

There were 2 M82's for Robocop. They were original M82's, not A1's. There is a difference.
1 of the guns is in the hands of a movie collector in Japan. We had to deactivate it to Japanese gov't specs. I believe the other one is in the hands of a collector in NV, but I'm not exactly sure of that.

I believe the Waco Texas Branch Davidians had them back in 1993. That was only 3 years after the Robocop movie that had them came out.
