Hey guys & gals, bring your riot guns to Bulletfest!!

It has been proposed that with the excellent trap facilities at MApleton some "riot gun trap" would be an interesting activity.

18.5" max barrel, separate divisions for PG only and full buttstock. Number of rounds, price and payout can be set at the shoot.

My bunch will bring their Mossbergs and a couple thousand rounds of ammo. Suggest you bring your short shotguns and some ammo. Surely we can arrange a fun time with these!!!!!

Make sure you have at least one stage with the birds coming AT you. Seems only appropriate that if you're gonna shoot clays with a riot gun, you ought to at least THINK you might get hit by one.

I have an 870 and a 590. Both are 20in. barrels. Can I still play?

I don't know why we couldn't accomodate 20" guns. Bring 'em along!!

Hard to shoot at clays coming toward you - too many safety issues with trap loaders and backstop.

I can just imagine seeing a little clay disc flying at you. Then your gun jams. WHACK! You fall over and have a nice little mark on your forehead

Ok, Ok. I wasn't serious (though the thought sometimes refuses to go away :) You could probably rig it up with little risk of getting hit, but there is always the issue of keeping folks from shooting the birds before they flush.

Out here in Washington we call this "Tactical Trap". It is a lot of fun, but it sounds like you guys will be missing the enjoyment of having the old duffers with their fancy O/U shotguns give you the evil eye. Oh yeah, don't forget your SureFire light, sidesaddle, tacsling, bayonet, etc. They add to the excitement.

I dont understand. Why shoot trap?

They are short for a reason.

Why not shoot an IDPA style course?

Why not shoot a steel match?

Sounds kinda pointless to me to shoot trap. IMO
