Getting ready to scope the M1A. I will be using a Leupold Mark4 3.5-10X40. Which Mark4 rings can I go with as far as height? Thank you.

The answer pretty much depends on what mount you use. Some are higher than others, and that is where the ring height question comes in. If you call up Leupold and tell them what mount you have, they can probably tell you what height rings will clear the handguard.

I just ordered ARMS 18 mount and 22 rings. All in for just under $300. I too am mounting a Leupy MK4...just order the Front Focal TMR 3.5-10x 40mm. The ARMS# 22 should clear it. BTW, #22's are the quick throw release rings, so they tend to be high, so I've been told.

ARMS throw lever rings are the way to go.

+1 on the SEI NSN Mounts (P/N 2006, P/N 2008) and Rings (P/N 7002). I've got 'em on both my M14SE Clone and bush-type. Good luck on getting the rings after next week. Order fast. Most are headed to 101st.

Tomorrow I'll try it yet.................. I'm hopeful

Can you please elaborate exactly what the problem was? I have justy order an ARMS setup, ans would like to know.

The problem is still presenthese
But with the iron sight all the shots are into the target.hinking.gif

Hence the rifle has not problems.

When I've fixed the ARMS 18 on the reciver, there were many "empty spaces" between mounts and rifle.

Probrably the problem is MEh
I hope, I explaned the problem with the right wordsh

anyway..............

I tried at 50, 100 and 200 metres. At all these distances I'm not able to hit the target with the scope

Maybe, with another mount, that fit together perfectly with the reciver, the problem disappears.

Sorry slt223, but my english isn't very well

Your English is far better than my Italian. I understood you just fine. Thanks for sharing. I hope you get it figured out. I'm getting little nervous about my mounts. What kind of receiver are you mounting it to?

I have never been an ARMS fan. Ive seen the pop up BUIS for an m4 shear in half when banged and heard of other issues with the gear. Personally I like the smith enterprise products as well as badger rings/bases.

I don't plan on banging a $900+ scope against anything, so I should be ok in that dept. My concern is it's ability to hold zero. I'm hoping two mounting locations plus a set screw will do it.

mmmm......... I don't know. The rifle has 3 years, and it's a SA M1A Standard. The serial is 153506.

Anyway............ I'm in buying a new mounts from Smith Enterprise........... I hope they ship overseas.

Yes, they do. It would help if you have a buddy with an APO address .

+1 on the Badger rings with SEI mount....I don't like SEI rings #7002,seems too low for using the see thru channel,i dunno how you guys use them when OBJ bell is 46mm on mk4 3.5-10X40,suggested use is up to 44mm??..so I went with BO Maximized high rings, perfect set up !

The HD 0.25" High Rings, P/N 7002, NSN 1005-01-535-4417 works fine for me with the Mark 4 3.5-10X40mm LR/T M3 TMR. This was specifically stated as a requirement recently by 101st ABN and that's what they rec'd. Works just fine with the through channel works fine on my rig, which has that same scope. If you find it too short, then try their HD 0.50" High Rings, P/N 7018, NSN 1005-01-535-4423. That's what another division originally ordered and will soon switch over to the 7002's.
