Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Rifled barrels?

I'm sure this has come up before but, if you have a rifle barrel, will shooting shot ruin the rifling?  Or secondly will it mess up the pattern?  Has anyone tried this?  I'm thinking may be lead shot or buck would be ok, but steel or the new stuff would be not ok?  What do ya'll think?

Again shooting bird or buckshot thru a rifled barrel will not damage the barrel. Rifled barrels are made for shooting sabot slugs at big game. Shot will not pattern well thru a rifled barrel. MIKE.
