Will removing the bayonett on an M44 change the bullet impact? When I shoot it folded out it is right on but folded it hits several inches to the left. If I took it off would the sights be right on like they are when it is folded out? Thank you!

From what I have read, extending or folding the bayonet will shift POI. The carbine was designed to be shot with the bayonet extended. In the event that you remove it, I would think it would change the POI. I believe most people remedy this by using a brass punch to drift the front sight in the appropriate direction.

I shoot mine the the bayo extended.

I get strange looks, but it works and that is how the rifle is designed.

The sights are right on with it extended. I will just shoot it that way.
