Local shop has one for $125 in nice shape. What do you think? Can I expect fairly decent accuracy out of it? Bluing is very good. Stock varnish is the only minus. Thanks.

I have one in my safe. Dad bought it when he was 12, I'm now 40, if that tells you anything about its longevity.

His is scoped, an ancient scope where the crosshairs are wire and they move around the view as you zero.

I learned to shoot with it maybe 30 years ago, it always seemed plenty accurate, of course I was shooting at cans, bottles, etc.

I'd get it. Seems like a good price. Great rifles. Finish can always be fixed, especially on the stock.

Went ahead and bought it. Range report to follow.

Range report : accuracy was only about 1" at 25 yds. w/ CCI Minimags and Federal bulk. Will have to try some Wolf match thru it next. I hope for 1" at 50 yds. Bought it partly because it will shoot shorts and also to teach kids w/ it instead of a semiauto. Anybody have any other suggestions for ammo?

Range Report #2. Win T-22 shoots 3 shots touching at 45 yds. w/ scope mounted! A perfect example of how you have to try different ammo. the best thing about this rifle is how well it points. At 100 yds. it hits a steel target offhand very easily. I can fire, rack it and then hear it hit the steel and be ready for the next shot.

I had one of these years ago and mine was a real shooter... Mine was a little unique as well as it had a 24-inch barrel so I don't know if someone had swapped out the barrel at some point... Mine would shoot about 2-inches at 100-yrds and I got quite good with the rifle as a teen and shot many rabits and squirels with it....

I sold it back when I needed money for College.... one of those guns I really wish I still had....
