Okay, this is my first semi-auto rifle.  I really want a 10/22, but my father in-law gave my wife his 522 Viper.  I know how to load it and shoot it, but that's really about it.  Is this a decent firearm?  Where can I get a manual so I know what I'm doing when I go to break it down and clean it?  Any info and/or help would be greatly appreciated.

i've got one, it's remington's black eye, the takedown is the two hex key slots under the rifle, then you just push the reciever and barrel out of the stock and separate them.  fair warning, it's a pain in the ass to clean and especially when it comes time to put it back together. that's it as far as takedown, you just clean what you can from there.

other than that, hey you got it for free, so you only slighty got ripped:) no, it'll never be a tackdriver, but it will put 10 rounds down range pretty quickly.  as far as getting an owner's manual, just write remington, they should give you one.

Thanks for the reply!  I pretty much figured that it wasn't going to be top notch (since I haven't really heard of it before AND it was a freebie)!  So I can't complain.  Just a plinker!
