I've used the light contour barrel for slugs and got great results in the past, but i know i'm gonna screw it up if i keep running slugs through it. have a slug barrel for it(riffled) and was wondering if anyone has got first hand knowledge of the right slug to use for Michigan whitetail? so many, i just don't know where to start. thanks for any advise.

My fully rifled barrel 870 is a tackdriver with Federal 3" sabots with the BarnesX bullets - terminal performance has been outstanding, as well... My part of NY is shotgun only, so we see alot of whitetails taken with slugs... The Brennekes are pretty good - other good slugs are Lightfeilds... Each gun is different - what I'd do, is buy a box of each, and see which one groups the best out of your gun - then, try to buy this year's hunting supply out of the same lot... Good luck, and happy hunting...
