Whats better?

I'm more of a pumpgun fan for home defense, but I've run matches with all three of these guns being used, so I can say one thing:

Stay away from the SPAS-12 at all costs. It's an unreliable piece of shit.

Benelli if you KNEW you'd have an always reliable source of full power buck and slug.

Remington if you were worried about parts availability ANYWHERE.

SPAS-12 if you are a poser.

Whats the avg. price for a pre-ban Benelli M1 and pre-ban Benelli M3? Good place to look for one?

You dont need a preban gun. Even with the extended mag its less then 10 rounds. Also no detachable mag. Pistolgrip is legal. So just get a new Benelli. Benelli doesnt make a collapsible stock for anythink besides the M4.

Actually, the 94 Ban limits self loading shotguns to 5 in the magazine if you want a pistol grip, not 10.

Benelli also makes a folding stock for the M3, which is still technincally "available".

As has been said, the Benelli if you can get Field/Heavy Field loads or better (and all buckshot/slugs work fine), and the Remington if you're recoil sensitive and are comforted by the fact that any decent smith knows how to get one working if it goes down. My major bitch with the 11/87 Police is that it doesn't like light loads either, and it relies on a $3-$4 rubber "O" ring to keep it running.

I have read the above post and respect everyones opinion on the SPAS-12. I have owned one for about ten years now and cycled many rounds through it without experiencing any problems other than a problem cycling low brass shells in auto mode. Some people whine about it being heavy. I've carried a Browning auto SG with a 32" full choke on long hunting trips and the SPAS in no heavier than that puppy. Well maybe if your a lady it probably a little heavy. As far as complicated its not that complicated once you get to handle it. The only beef I have with the SPAS is it does not chamber 3" magnums. While I dont believe the SPAS is for everyone I think its great for home defence. Everyones entitled to their opinion, this one is mine.

I like my 11-87P I do not shot the light loads in it I have a Mossberg 500 pistol grip that I run the light loads just for blasting.
