Greetings to all.
I've been out of touch for a while (still have my fingers and toes ) Computer issues.
Anyway. I just bought a new Marlin 336 with scope package. I am looking to reload for it.
I have the several books for load data and obviously will work up my loads.
Any powder recommendations? Bullets? primer types?
I know the spire points are out because of the tube magazine and recoil.
getting the dies soon and will start churring some out.
Thanks in advance
I like W748 and CCI primers
Also the Lee FCD, since .30-30 needs a good crimp

The new Hornady 165 gr soft tip sounds interesting, but are expensive.
If you're expecting to shoot over 150-meters or so, they're worth it.
100 yards would be a long shot for me. I've settled on the 170gr Rem. core-loc soft point,
R-P cases, R-P primers and 3031. My old (got it in '77 when I was 12 ) Marlin with the
Micro-Groove rifling likes heavier bullets and these components give me good Minute-of-deer.
Sierra 170gn Pro Hunter FN
1/2 turn crimp with the Lee FCD.
My Winchester 94 doesn't like the 150s at all.

I almost shot soda out my nose on that reply. LMAO
Thanks for the input guys. More to follow.
