Hey guys currently I'm running a Wilson Combat +2 mag extension and its rock solid. I've had it on there for years and have never had a problem. Recently I've been on a lightweight kick and was thinking about trying to lighten up my shotgun a little bit by replacing my steel mag extension with an aluminum one.
What I'm looking for is a +2 aluminum mag extension with a built in sling attachment. Something like what Benelli uses

Anybody know of one anything like this?
Some pics of my current set up.

Midway USA sells the Choate exrensions...they come with a replacement spring and a sling bracket.

Light it is good, but no way in hell I would swap a Wilson out for a POS Choate.

I installed a good many Choate extensions for a good many years, and only had one that had a problem. The Choate is sort of the preferred standard.

However, the Choate is steel, and if you want aluminum you'll need another brand.
As example Nordic is aluminum and seems to have a good reputation:

Also Advanced Technology is aluminum, but I don't know their reputation:

I have never really been a fan of the Chote extensions because of the unsealed end. I know it's weird I just don’t like them.

I wish Nordic would make some kind of sling attachment similar to the Benelli that I linked to or something that is pressed on kind of like the Wilson

I typically respect the hell out of your opinion on shotguns, but on this I strongly disagree. I think the Choate is a flaming piece of crap. For the me, the preferred standard is the OEM Remington extension, followed closely by the Wilson and Vang units.

Choats suck.

Nordics are awesome and function perfectly. Also pretty light; I would rather sacrifice more weight on a part that will work every time than a light POS. Go lift weights.

The only Choate extension I have is 20 years old, on an 870 and has been through the ringer.

About 10 years ago I wanted to cut down the weight on all my shotguns and at some point I went to Nordic on all my Remington and Benelli guns. In addition to being LW, rock solid and well made, they are very versatile. For some reason I won't swap out that one old Choate, nostalgia I guess, but even that tube has a Nordic mag clamp on it.
