well, I started out with my Aimpoint CompC-2X on top and 100 rounds of Portuguese surplus to sight in with. It was Very easy to sight that red dot in and it makes for some really wicked snap shooting, I kept thinking..."Damn, what if I was hunting bad guys with this?"
Needless to say, I went through that first hundred very quickly. Next, I had an ammocan of mixed headstamp .308(Dented Brass ammo from Southern Ammo I believe). I went through about 300 rounds of that with relativly few problems. The only problem I had was from the rifle getting really dirty. I also think I like shooting using the iron sights better for some odd reason. That's OK because the A.R.M.S #22M68 Throw Lever Ring just came in, so I can switch the Aimpoint out in a snap. So far, I am absolutely thrilled with my purchase! I need more mags and ammo though(don't we all?) |

AIM is suppose to be getting Portugese back in ...139.50 shipped if I remember correctly
I bought 5K rounds the last time they had it...good stuff.. |

aim has it back in stock right now. And i can attest to this rifle being "awesome" the 2x aimpoint does well and we proved today that we can hit a human head sized target with ease
Recoil was substantially less than a standard m1a due to the break also |

Is this the one with forword mount on barrel? Dose POA shift as it heats up?

I honestly couldn't tell. I'll have to check for that next time. Is this a common occurence with the scout mount? |

might I suggest you take the ring assy. off of your 22M68 and loc-tite the screws back in place. I had mine come apart on me!

HOPLITE....I know AIM had the Portugese listed again but the last time I looked there was no 'add to cart' button... do you know if we can order it yet??

 Glad you like yours! I love my std. and like you said I love shooting it naked(irons). I will probably put a scope on mine for comparison but I really like the iron sights. I wish I could have been out there with you guys but Marc and I made the trek back up to B&J's in Albany and his rifle is now A OK and also now sports a WICKED scope on top! That is one bad-ass weapon. When is the next shoot?
