I bought a set of .40 S&W sizer dies a little while back.  I noticed my UMC brass was not sizing correctly so I wasn't getting proper neck tension.  (I could push the bullet deeper with my thumb and forefinger)  I emailed them and they told me to send it to them with some shells to test with.

Granted, I live in Connecticut and they are in California so it took a good week for it to get there and probably a week to get it back here.  Overall I believe it took 2 and a half weeks for me to get my die back that works PERFECTLY.  Yeah, I had to pay for shipping it to them but they paid to send it back here.

Good job RCBS.  I will continue to buy their dies.

I called them on Friday, asking to buy a cap to my Uniflow powder measure.  The lady on the phone refused to take my money and instead sent it for free.

I'll be buying GREEN for a while.

Same story for me 30 years ago with .45 ACP.  Bought a steel die set, same problem you had.  I sent it back with some empties, they sent me FREE a CARBIDE sizer die custom made.  I'm still using that die; it's loaded thousands of .45s.  RCBS rules!
