That is the button you depress to adjust the length of the stock.
Hope this helps, Clint |
thanks |

The last picture I saw of the SCAR was an ugly mustard yellow color but this one is a nice brown color.
This is a gun that looks different in every picture. BTW, Where did you get the pics? Do you have any more? |
YUP that button is to adjust the LOP........... those were taken at shot show right??
Other 2 are for the cheek-weld height adjustment & the folding lock. I still want one in old-school black.
Maybe that is what is used for barrel retention since it is quick change
I just about wet myself too! These are the best pics I've seen yet of the SCAR! |
How are you supposed to fire the weapon when the stock is folded. It looks as if the stock would prohibit the right trigger finger from reaching the trigger.
Has about the FN products forum?
Similar "AR15.COM", specialized, unofficial. In us about at the firearms forum, the most popular topic is "SCAR". |
That's what I was thinking. I would love to know how this thing quick changes barrels. |
Looks like, even if also only has the very few people in US to participate in "Shoot Show". |
Why are we telling this CHICOM guy about our latest weapons development???
+1 It's about time we get a space for FN, or for the SCAR. |
like anything that WE know and have already told him matters at all. If there was something the gov't didn't want china to know, AR15.com wouldn't know in the first place |
A rifle needs to keep secret On the Internet person nearly all knows about the SCAR matter. |
Those are the best pics I have seen of the Scar, thanks for the post.
I CANT TAKE THIS I WANT ONE NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sorry what happened I passed out for a minute? OH YEA GIMME GIMME GIMME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOLOL |

Those are the scar rifles that were on display at the SHOT show. The SHOT show allows media. If FN didn't want the world to see the scar rifles, they probably would not have displayed them in the first place. |
Nope. There's enough space. |
A SCAR forum in the Armory section would be great, but it'd probably be best to wait until they actually get out into circulation. Hope '07 is the year. |
Yeah, but it would be nice to have an FN forum now because the SCAR isn't the only rifle they make. |
Me too! I just don't know what I wan't more, the SCAR-H or SCAR-L |
Since this is a special forces rifle why does it not come with what I thought was the special forces favorite flash suppressor? The Vortex? Instead it has a "knock off" of the A2 flash suppressor, and in the pics it's screwed on wrong with the slots facing down.
I've got money sitting in the bank ready for both an L and an H version. The H by itself is going to create havoc on my ammo budget as I scramble to get my 7.62 round count up to my 5.56 level.
The flash hider is not a "knock off" of the A2, and I assure you it is installed correctly. |
Getting both, who knows, these maybe the last we can get , if we get another AWB in '08. I also would like a FN forum. I would also like a Sig forum so I can find all the 556 info in one place.
I thought the SCAR conforms to the American regarding the firearms idea.
Sure it is to the Gov't spec and serves a purpose. BTW, the "Special Forces Favorite" flash hider is the KAC unit for the suppressor. You will be hard pressed to find another, even a standard A2 FH on a SOF issued M4A1. |
Since this is a new gun and I don't know much about it, I'll take your word for it. But it still doesn't look like it's screwed on there right. |
Ok thanks, I "thought" it was the Vortex but I guess it's not. But it is my favorite. |
It does, but Americans aren't the only people living in America. Those other people would love to see America turn into another turd world pile of shit. |
WTF does that have to do with the SCAR? |
Taking his word for it is a very wise decision. |
Indeed it is.
I want a SCAR-H so bad I can taste it. I, too, have money set back for one. The -L, while cool, isn't quite the improvement that the -H is. There are no modern 7.62s that have comparable ergonomics and features to the SCAR-H. I'm going to buy two of the fucking things. Havoc, if you're taking suggestions...please make a spares kit available with the guns when they come to market. Oh, and hurry up and get the guns out before the next election, please. Thanks! |
How should I know? I'm not Chinese. |
Is havoc involved in the SCAR program. |
Um... |
Um.. um.. um... What? |
Likely that the -L will be the base platform for the 6.8 caliber. That alone makes it a significant improvement (ammo cost not withstanding). |
It's a rifle, not a radio. Who cares what the world knows about it?
Will there be any provision for shooting with mittens/heavy gloves for the SCAR.
maybe in a later revision? like the AR15 fold down trigger guard. just curious |

I hope so because I can see at least one glaring issue just by looking at the pics. The stock does not collapse enough to shorten the LOP sufficiently for CQB w/ a vest. You need to be able to get to the length of a fully closed M4 stock for short to average height folks' arms. Also, I'd like to see them trim some fat off that pig of a reciever. It looks pretty bulky and not very streamlined. |
