Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Question about 03 Springfield

Pops has recently handed down a part of the family collection of firearms.

A 03 Springfield that is manufactured by Remington.  I bought some books from Scott Duff but I have yet to learn about completely stripping the rifle down.  I've learned how to strip the bolt but not much else.  My worry is the rifle was stored in a couch bed (I know I know) and I want to make sure it will be around for long time.

Any good leads will help.
