Price on new Rem M24 .308?

Anybody know what the price on the M24 is? Rifle only, i'm not interested in the accessories.

Also, I was told that the M24 can be bought by law enforcement only. Is this true? Anybody can buy the PSS and LTR, i don't see the difference.

I don't see it listed anymore on www.remingtonle.com. I know it's beaucoup bucks though, and IMHO, if you're going to spend that kind of cash you're better off getting a true custom gun like George Gardners "The Rock". Check out it's review on snipercountry.com.

i am sort of a Rem 700 collector/enthusiast, i would love to add one to my collection. i would not give $3200 for one though.

Is it me, or is that price a bit steep, even with the all the accessories and case?

a bit steep?! It's waaay steep. A George Gardner "Rock" is a truly handmade custom gun.
Trued Rem action
Badger recoil lug
Mike Rock 5r barrel
McMillan stock
SSG style bolt knob
plus God knows all the other stuff I'm forgeting. His price is $2500.
I think Rem is charging that much because they can. After all it's an M24.

Check out the price of 'rifle with Iron Sights and Mounted Leupold Mark IV M3 Scope' 5,925.00.

That's about $1800 more than the same package minus a scope and rings. Considering you can buy a MKIV M3 from SWFA for $1100, that's a major ripoff, unless the rings are solid gold.

Also notice that the iron sight option costs about $600 more than the rifle minus irons. Am I missing something???
