Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Price Check: Jap Type 99

I saw one at a local antique mall for $325.00.
Overall impression is that it is a very nice looking rifle.
Monopod was bent, almost twisted.
AA sight was complete.
I could not see if the mum was intact,as it was in a case and noone had a key.
Is this rifle worth further attention?
What sould I look for?

I'm no expert on these, but I've never seen one go for much over $200.

With the monopod, aniti-aircraft sights, and a intact mum.,  That probably isn't all that out of line.  Like Ken Mays said, I've never seen one over 200 either, but I've never seen one with the monopod, sights, and mum all together either.  I have found antique stores usually want a premium for not so premium guns, so watch out.
