Just wanted to show off my latest creation. PVS-5 tubes in a PVS-18 dual mount setup. The battery/switch compartment were made by me. I am currently finishing the diopter rings in the back and will start work on an ANVIS battery adapter once they are complete. I don't currently have a helmet with a mount on it so there isn't a huge rush for that. I thought they turned out really well and wanted to share with the community.

Seriously killer start. The ergonomics will blow a PVS-5 away.

Thanks I bought the bridge to run dual PVS-14's but they were pretty clunky looking in it (one is a dual battery setup the other a single). I know PVS-14 ism made of an impact resistant polymer but I quite like the durability the aluminum casing of the PVS-5 offers better also. Plus its nice only having one switch. I will say that it was pretty nice having gain control with the dual 14 setup up though.

No complaints one of the tubes is a little dimmer than the other which isn't really that noticeable at night. Optics are nice, but image isn't quite as crisp as my 14's but one would expect that I suppose. All and all for the money invested I am quite happy and these will probably replace one of my 14's in my go bag.

Is that a dual pvs18 bridge or a dual pvs14 bridge?

PVS-18 is what it was labeled when I bought it, found it on ebay for 120 bucks! Cheapest I found for the 14 ones new was 350 and I am cheap.

Cool build - I saw something similar on eBay / the EE a couple of years ago and it looks like a really slick setup. I have been wondering what to do with my new old stock PVS-5 lens paid that I picked up for a hobby.

You can get the LEMO FGG 0B 304 4-pin connector and run your power directly to an ANVIS battery pack which would make a great counterweight. The connector is ~$15-$30 on eBay.

Yeah I am making an adapter that screws into the battery compartment and will allow you to use the anvis battery pack (but they are expensive so holding off on that till I find one that is a steal).

That is how the wiring is handled. Has a clicky on the battery that conrolls the on and off.

I have never added up the costs but here is an estimate:

upgraded front lenses = 30 each
Tubes = 200 and 325
Bridge = 120

So aproximately 675 not counting materials which I had on hand or the hours it took me to build it.

Also mods can remove this if not allowed but just wanted to give a quick plug for ebay user Nightsite. They sold me most of the parts and all of my experiences with them have been really pleasant. Plus they are fellow Tennesseans!

So what does that actually mount to? It doesn't look like the std bayonet mount or the dovetail type mount?

It has accommodations for an wilcox PVS-18 shoe. The bridge didn't come with one, but I have one on order and it should be here Monday. Then I will have the majority of what I wanted to accomplish done. After that its a waiting game as Wilcox mounts and battery packs are hella expensive. I still need to mark the rear diopters to give some sort of feedback while focusing (think PVS-14 rear objective). Still trying to figure this out as I don't have an indexing wheel and want them to be marked in equal increments. Other than that its pretty much done. I have a Surefire m952v mounted on my rifle so I didn't see any need for an integrated IR. I'm happy to have received so many favorable comments about my build.

I think that I can resolve your battery pack problem - I have a particular set of skills... I 3D printed a bunch of these out of solid ABS for a MOD3 project. I've actually been using them with all sorts of stuff and they work really well. Very simple design and it can take being driven over. Plus, it really keeps in line with the DIY aspect of the project. :-)

$12 should cover my parts and shipping. 3V Runs AA's. I will include a cheap set of connectors, but you should really get the LEMO connectors and if not, then I'd suggest something cheap that is IP67 rated.
