I found it in my grandmother's closet after she passed away.  She had left me a pair of .22's and this stock.  I'd like to know what rifle it belongs too and someday would like to build that rifle on this stock.  I just don't have a clue as to what gun it goes to.

M1 Carbine but it looks like the nose has been cut off. What markings are on it?

There is a BR-B on the inside of the hole in the butt.  (that sounds bad)


There are no other markings on it.  It looks like something should attach to the front end and that little metal piece should hold it in place.

BR-B would be an IBM ( International Business Machines ) carbine stock. Too bad someone cut the tip off
