I'm running two setups:

Source in a Eagle BTAP that is rigged with QD buckles on the top/bottom shoulder strap mounting points so that I can go from stand alone assault pack to carrier-attached in about 10 seconds.

Source in a Twin Needle Mini MAP w/ same QD buckles as above:

I have a camelbag 3L bladder in a Whiskey Two Four pouch that zips onto my Spiritus. Works well in my limited experience.  I like that the bite valve came with a neoprene sleeve.

W24 is surprisingly good. I use that too when I don't need a full back panel for a hit.

The spiritus core. I have their molle panel I'm going to try out on this rotation but I'm not sure I'm going to like it.

It's from coyote tactics solutions. I grabbed it when I got my new cummerbund and burrito.

But same thing really.

I need to do some more handgun drills. I prefer aiwb and it's doable but its not ideal. I carry a lot at 300 too so it's not a big deal to switch.

Grey Ghost Gear has 50% off their gear today, not sure how long it will last.  That makes their minimalist plate carrier $67 +ship/tax, or their excellent slings <$20.  Still have multicam plate carriers.

anybody have thoughts for a lightweight pistol rated plate for the back of my slickster? Ordered an RMA 1003 for the front and was hoping to use an existing soft panel for the rear but no dice. Figured I would check with the pros before ordering an RMA 0226 for $100. Yes I know it's not a super high rating but with a back injury I am leaning towards light and some coverage over heavy and left behind (or naked and not the least bit bullet resistant)

Well no pics cause reasons, but I have a crye JPC 2.0 with an esstac placard and tencate CR-2000's. Super lightweight setup.  Would have liked to get a Daeodon but I’m a small.

Also have a gcode belt w/ 2x gcode stanag mag pouches, 2x itw fastmag pistol pouches, HSGI blowout kit, gcode holster, and an old 5.11 dump pouch.

It is a good system thus far. I’ll see if I can post pics later.

Oh and if esstac ever makes a daeodon for small SAPIs, I’ll buy it.

Did you get it to go on a Pc or stand alone?

I want something to try a chest rig but unsure where to start. I have a slickster so the ability to add to it makes sense, but so does stand alone. Do I buy something like an Amazon clone first to try the set ups and then spend real money?

The rig you posted was $130+ by the time I had it set up and an Amazon rig is like $60

It replaced my 3 cell spiritus placard. I have a mk5 I'm putting it up against. The mk5 is more expandable but as a dedicated placard, the unobtainium is probably the coolest I've ever used. Expandable front portion that can fit smg/pistol mags, chemlights, small flashlights, etc. Also the front tegris thing makes re-indexing a Breeze. Attachment Attached File

AWS OCPC with ESAPIs and MSAP side plates. 20lbs total.
JPC 1.0 with RMA 1092s. 15.5lbs total.
Turned the Ferro Mini Danglers into full IFAKs.
Gen 7 TQs from NAR in their pouches.
Swapped plates between carriers to this configuration and it really helped fit and comfort.

@hoody2shoez thank you, that makes sense and makes it easier. Plus I am more sober than yesterday, which is also helpful.

I'm coming from a USPSA/3gun background so I always ran shit off my belt, which was a DAA rigid bastard. Seems like the new battle belts are going with that trend of inner/outer, which is cool. But I'm lost on chest options.

I already have a slickster with light weight plates. I got it because I figured I could stuff a few into the cummerbund, but it's really literally uncomfortable to do that and I hate them there. I'm also not sure there are times where I would want mags for a rifle but not armor, so I'm trying to decide if I build out my PC first or get a chest rig like this to try the concept out. I figure if I like the bits of this, I can figure out how to attach it to my PC and save the straps for something else. But if I like it as stand alone, it can live as it's own thing in my trunk/EDC bag since I don't always carry my armor with me.

I get frustrated cause everything has weird ass names and completely different make ups, so I have a hard time paying attention across brands and don't feel comfy building it out myself. Plus whenever I look at like unobtanium or ferro for parts my $30 way to hold ammo becomes $300 and I just don't order it.
thoughts?

My thing was around $100.

First lay out what you intend to carry
Second decide where you'd like to carry it
Third buy something that fits 1&2. Most modern placards/chest rigs will fit a slickster. Just needs the velcro rear and some type of buckle/g-hook on the placard

I just received an Unobtanium SLEDS M4 Magazine pouch and the mid-ride reload adapter from them.   Wow!  I was skeptical on the ability to reindex as easily into it as I can my Esstac or Haley MP2, but honestly it's really as simple as everyone says it is to do.  It's going to sound weird, but I can feel the weight savings as well and I like that it collapses nearly flat when not used.

The reload adapter is a game changer. I can't wait to try it out at the range this weekend. It puts my fast reload on my belt at the perfect height so no matter what weird bending angle I'm doing my AR reload mag will never push so close to my plate carrier that makes it reloading a PITA.  So, I love that thing.

Yeah dude I hear ya

I dont like stuff sitting low on my belt-I do too many vehicle ops and its a pain to sit with. Otherwise lower ride stuff is the best

I think I finally figured out my new setup.

HRT Sporran Hanger Pouch
Daeodon - L
Daeodon Sleeve Kit
SKD PIG Pontoon
5.56 Triple Daeodon Front Panel
Highcom 4S16

Any suggestions before I pull the trigger?

What is the setup for?
Larp?
Civil unrest?
Playing COD?
Hunting boar at night?

Point is-without some sort of direction these questions are hard to answer

Want to larp, and be able to deal with civil unrest.

6 mile run in my BCS low pro carrier pushing stroller.

I really don't see the need for any extra padding.

I'm planning on shooting in armor tomorrow and am grateful for dry armor.

I remember putting on my wet interceptor

You're setup fine for larping.

I'm a fan of having ways to retain water and small amounts food on my carrier for civil unrest

Yeah still looking into that, want to get the base down first.

Still trying to figure it all out before I drop the money and then want to change something
