.22LR is "oh-so-fun" and guys, it's CHEAP.
I'm shooting some and holding onto the other calibers we all know we better hold on to in these times o' trouble. So THIS being said, I thought why don't I get me more of those .22LR toys? Yes, I thought to myself so, for your consideration, humbly, a "Heckler & Koch" (made on license by Walther, in the motherland). Even on this one, I hated the toy-ish feel some .22LR "naturally have" and I went on to install real G36 parts that, in any case, will maintain and increase their value. Hensoldt Dual Optics (a second one, first one sits in the other "clone" above, the 10/22) UND actual IDZ Stock (love that one). In doubt whether to get barrel cut UND pinned on this one as well but oh-we-shall-see Attached File |

It's never over until I say so: another G36 joined me (yes, this is different from the one above - you can see a different serial number).
On this one, we retained the G36K forend (above is G36 long rifle, German standard); barrel cut, pinned and welded in place (I dislike long barrels in general and these rifles are mostly collectible toys for me - to shoot with my children et cetera) Stock is authentic H&K, G36C (shorter stock); authentic Hensoldt dual optic (this one is in 1.5x magnification, above is 3x), working in mint condition. I am keeping on adding .22LR firearms for a variety of reasons (including the fact that I already have a shitload of other firearms in other calibers)
This is another H&K licensed clone in .22LR built by Walther in Germany. All metal, very reliable. These have been discontinued, the whole .22LR tactical rimfire Walther line has. These have the official status of desirable collectibles. HK MP5 .22LR by SoloDallas, on Flickr |

View Quote It came like that from the factory, but I do also have the flash hider that came as well. Don't know why. But it looks credible enough! The 416 pistol is considerably small - forend is shorter etc. Would not go that route; I would SBR one of these (at least in order to get the Navy SEAL kinda thang) |

Update: on one of the HK (by Walther) G36s I performed an additional modification; i.e., purchased an actual G36E (longer) forend AND I attached a G36 Bipod.
It came out a wonderful (for my taste) G36K-looking rifle. The actual G36K would have a 4 holes forend, this is instead the longer one at 6 holes - but having cut (and pinned and welded the flash hider) enabled the flash hider itself to just barely make it out of the longer forend, creating the illusion (I think) of a shorter-barreled G36 Love it. ETA the bipod is actually a high quality Airsoft version that fit absolutely perfectly on the authentic forend. While an authentic bipod costs around USD200 (if you can even find one) this one was USD35 and I must say, it's sturdy and extremely good-quality looking and feeling itself; I must say I love this project thoroughly HK G36K (.22LR) by SoloDallas, on Flickr |

Got back the other .22LR G36 with cut and pinned barrel; so now I have three in total, two of which below here (my favorite ones). Third one has been pictured above, it's a 10/22 in Archangel disguise - not anymore interested in that one really since I have now these.
These came out simply stunning. Many real part (optics, hand guards) and some replicas as well - everything fitting perfectly. HKG36 .22LR by SoloDallas, on Flickr HK G36s in .22LR by SoloDallas, on Flickr |

Originally Posted By Harv24: Those have to be the most expensive .22 VISMODS on the planet, what did that set you back? View Quote They are! So let's see: each G36 .22LR came in basic configuration, an average of USD750 each (one cheaper, one more expensive). Both almost new - i.e., used (these are, however, out of production, Walther/Umarex ceased all .22LR "tactical" production) Dual Hensoldt optics: one USD500, one USD1100 (the cheaper one is actually the 3x, the more expensive one is the 1.5x) - both used but near mint Another USD150 per rifle to cut, pin & weld (and for the silencer ready flash hider, as my next move is go .22LR silencer) THEN around USD110 per hand guard (real, "German" G36 forend) plus bits and pieces for screws and other "authentic" parts (slings N shit, too) Both stocks are also authentic: one is the special forces one at USD500, the other one is the shorter, G36C version (I think it was USD110 or something) What else is missing - rails, probably another USD100? Grand total = USD4160 (or slightly more, even) i.e., around over 2k per rifle. ETA forgot: add USD25 per bipod - replica (great quality) HK G36 bipod; these are airsoft ones but but very well made I have to say; very sturdy, fit amazingly well 1:1 onto the rifles. Surprising. And they have full 100% real functionality (especially for a .22LR and its recoil or lack of thereof etc.) But(t) keep in mind: most of those parts are all re-sellable, and easily, too: HK fanboys and collectors in general foam at the mouth for this stuff. The two G36s are also easy to sell back to market - either in that configuration or stripped - because they are now authentic collectibles. I'd say, considering the times, great toys with some value? |
