can someone tell me or link me to somewhere that explains the differences between the perst models? I see the 3 is around $1200, but the 4 is very affordable.

Is that going on an AR-15? I haven't seen a good photo of how far that sticks out compared to a scout light. View Quote The light is about the same size as an insight m3(or pretty much any other pistol light/laser.) The mount is about the same length as the light and drops the light about the thickness of the mount. Hope it helps. I'll post pics when I get a mounting solution figured out. |
|
The thing is a lightsaber.
I was shining it on a tree that's at least 100 yards away and it still had the Halo around the dot. The illuminator is like a good flashlight with a solid bright spot and plenty of spill. I'm happy with the light/laser, now I just need to figure out how to get it stuck on a rifle. |
|
|
I'm hesitant to put it on the bottom of a rifle, as it seems more likely to get smacked around.
For my first attempt, it's going on a 45° rail mounted on the very front on the right side of an ultimak tube on an AK. |

I imagine it would be.
Are the perst units a lot "flatter" than these? I should have my 45° mount tomorrow, so I'll try to get a pic up once I get it mounted. My goal is to tuck it between the gas block and fsb as much as possible while not having the illuminator obstructed by the fsb. |

I made a quick video comparing a MAWL, DBAL D2 and Perst 2. It is in my backyard so only 25y with a lot of ambient light from street lights. The Perst illuminator can basically be focused down to the same size as the laser making it quite versatile. I'll try to get to the range soon to compare at 100y.

Neat trick I didn't see mentioned yet is the adjustment caps on the Perst series have flats on them, great for adjusting them!

That looks great. I really like that small pressure switch too

Ordered a Perst-4 a couple days before I went to survival school, was really hoping I would have it in hand by now, especially with expedited shipping, but last update I've got is it's been processed through PCI 7 in Moscow as of 19Jan

About Zenitco from there website.
About us Zenit company is a manufacturer of professional weapon lights, laser designators and weapon upgrade. Zenit was founded on the 13th of December, 1994. We began our journey by producing small LED flashlights. Now, more than 20 years since the founding of our company, these small flashlights evolved into an entire line of professional weapon-mounted lights for service and hunting firearms, as well as powerful stationary and shield-mounted projectors. In 2006, we became the official supplier of tactical lights and projectors to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. Besides LED lights, we actively develop laser modules in both visible red (or green) and infra-red spectrums, often combined with visible or infra-red illuminating devices. With the appearance of tactical light modules with integrated lasers arose the question of how they were to be mounted reliably onto a firearm, reducing the possibility that the target indicator would shift. The commercially-available AK platform furniture of the time did not guarantee an acceptable level of reliability and stability. For this reason, Zenit Company management approved the development of our own line of railed AK platform furniture now designated as the “Classic” series. Over time, we successfully developed several variants of handguards, optics platforms, muzzle-devices, butt-stocks, and grips that have now become classics, like their namesake, with the use of service and civilian firearms popular inside of the Russian Federation and countries where these arms are imported. In 2015, the “Classic” line was officially accepted for issue to personnel by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. Our products have earned high praise from operations divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, FSB, FSO, and Ministry of Defense. One of the most important aspects of our company’s work is communication with users. Taking into consideration results from field tests and criticism from operatives in the field, we constantly modernize our existing accessories and constantly develop new ones based on feedback. Our company provides warranty and post-warranty services for all of our products, including repairs. We have our own modern metalworking stations, including metal treatment stands, milling stations, multicoordinate processing centres, coating equipment, qualified personnel, and our own design bureau. All of our products are developed internally by “Zenit” Company. New products are released every quarter year. Zenit Company is an international leader in the industry of light, laser, and weapon modification production. |

Mine's been showing as having left there since the 10th. I'm a bit miffed about having paid for the expedited shipping as well, but it is within the projected delivery window. The soonest mine might arrive is Wednesday but realistically I'm expecting the furthest out at this point. My package from Bulgaria is MIA as well for over 50 days. Probably lost at this point or US Customs hates me. View Quote |

Ok. I had some time to fiddle with this klesh-2/ak situation.
It will work as is, but I'm going to try to find a way to get the klesh mounted closer to the barrel. I'd prefer a z-bar type rail(if one exists) to replace the mount that came with the klesh. Attached File Attached File Attached File |
