I am currently playing around with making an old Mosin 91-30 more sporty. I have cut the barrel down to 20" and recrowned it. I have also filed and sanded a lot of the horrible machining marks off the receiver, so it's now pretty much in the white. I plan on refinishing it with parkerizing. My question is how do I keep the bright and shiney bore from being parkerized when I drop the barreled action into the park solution?

Thanks in advance.

In the past, I have used wooden dowels and foam ear plugs.

Thanks. I'll give it a whirl.

Is it chrome lined? I don't think hard chrome will park.
